The best time of day to shoot on the Brooklyn Bridge, including photos from three different galleries!

Brooklyn Bridge Sunrise vs. Sunset

It’s no secret that the best times of the day for that soft, golden lighting we all crave are sunrise and sunset. These are, in my opinion, the best times you could shoot on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Sunrise

As much as I love to sleep in, I’ll always advocate for a sunrise session somewhere like the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a huge tourist attraction, and it’s much more crowded during the day. These shots were taken just after sunrise, and just as a rainstorm cleared – so we were pretty much the only people around!

Afternoon/Sunset

If your schedule or preferences don’t allow for a morning session, the bridge is still beautiful during the day! There will be people in the background of certain shots (see right), but it’s definitely possible to snag a quiet corner in the middle area of the bridge for some privacy (as seen left).

Soooo, did that help at all?

I know, I know – I probably didn’t tip the scale one way or another, with morning being tough for some (sun rises as early as 5:30am at certain times of the year – yikes!) and with both of these sessions being so beautiful in their own way.

Basically, you can’t go wrong! Don’t stress it – just make sure to hire a photographer who knows the ins and outs of the area and how to shoot in all different kinds of lighting and settings.

Pro tip:

Walk the bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn, then climb down the stairs and head over to Dumbo for a few more shots under the bridge! Peep the neighborhood below:

Should we do our Brooklyn Bridge session at sunrise, or sunset?
