Eloping can definitely save you money.

There’s no doubt that booking a venue, photographer, florals, and dinner for dozens of people will cost more than doin’ the thing at city hall with your partner or tying the knot out in nature.

That being said, those beautiful, grand and adventurous elopements you’re always seeing definitely can cost you too! Think flights, hotels, rental cars, your outfits, probably a photographer – and some popular locations require permits.

What will we tell our friends and family if we elope?

I’m not gonna lie, there will likely be family members or pals who are disappointed that they didn’t get to celebrate with you. But is that a reason to not do what YOU want? Your true people will understand!

You can always throw a party (think wedding reception!) later on down the road, to celebrate with your friends and fam.

The pace of it all.

When you elope, there’s just the two of you, probably an officiant, maybe a photographer – and that’s it! You can really take your time, soak in those moments together, and have an intentional day doing exactly what you want.

On the other hand, if you love the chaos and fast-paced energy of a wedding day surrounded by your closest people, that’s a beautiful thing too! And there are definitely opportunities during a crazy wedding day to catch quiet moments alone together — private vows, sneaking away for sunset photos, etc. It’s your day and you can schedule time to be alone together!
