On an unseasonably warm November day, I explored Newport with Katie & Pat for their engagement session.
I joined Katie and Pat in Newport, RI to celebrate their engagement back in November. I don’t often scope out wedding venues before the day of the wedding, unless I’ve shot there before of course, but they were bringing some family members by that afternoon to see their venue anyway – so I decided to tag along. The Castle Hill Inn is STUNNING. You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful waterfront wedding venue.
After skipping some rocks at the venue’s beach and walking around to all the popular photo spots around the property, we hopped in the car and went over to the Salve Regina University campus to kick off their session with some shots in the gorgeous Ochre Court. The campus is spread throughout Newport consisting of beautiful mansions and old architecture. I grew up about an hour away from Newport, but my high school prom actually took place in one of these mansions!
At sunset we wrapped up their session at Bailey’s Beach, where they got engaged last summer. I know, it’s hard to believe they were barefoot and splashing around in the ocean in November – but we got so incredibly lucky with the weather and it was such a stunning end to their session.
I can’t wait to return to Newport for their wedding next summer!
