The Great Minnesota Get-Together is a great place to shoot a couples session.

Happy August, y’all! My birth month, and……. almost Minnesota State Fair time! Let’s reminisce on this engagement session I captured at the fair last year.

The State Fair has been a special date spot for these two for their whole relationship, so it was only fitting that we did their engagement session there! We had so much fun wandering around, eating fair food, and experimenting with all the pretty lights.

It’s relatively easy to shoot at the fair! You don’t need a permit – you’re just not allowed to have standalone lighting or props, and you can’t disrupt the flow of the crowds. I saw a few other photographers shooting as we walked around, and I even returned with a model a few days later for some more shots too!

I love a date night photo session! It feels so much more authentic, and helps your photos tell a story.
